HOW DO WE EVALUATE A PATIENT FOR COMPROMISED AIRWAY ISSUES?

A CASE STUDY

LONG FACE SYNDROME

A SEVERELY COMPROMISED AIRWAY (3.3MM SHOULD BE 16MM)

INTER MOLAR DISTANCE 33.3 MM (SHOULD BE AT LEAST 38MM) UNDRDEVELOPED MAXILLA

RIGHT SIDE LESS DEVELOPED COMPROMISED RIGHT NASAL CHOANAE

BASED ON CRANIAL BASE AND MANDIBULAR LENGTH THIS PATIENT IS BI-DENTALLY RETRUDED

SHOULD HIS BITE BE OPENED SINCE HE IS ALREADY LONG-FACE?

THIS PATIENT NEEDS CRANIOFACIAL DEVELOPMENT, MAXILLARY MORPHOGENESIS, WITH THE HOMEOBLOCK™ APPLIANCE BEFORE TREATMENT WITH A MANDIBULAR ADVANCEMENT DEVICE.

This is just an overview. I am available for discussion and to assist you in evaluating your patients.
