THE FACE and THE AIRWAY, GENE ENVIRONMENTAL INTERACTION EPIGENETICS and THE HOMEOBLOCK™ APPLIANCE

The twenty first century has been marked by the scientific breakthrough, sequencing the genome. Deciphering the four-letter code denominating each of 25,000 genes is the beginning of the greatest research project of our time. As many as 4,000 diseases are linked to single genes. Scientists are looking forward to curing diseases through gene interaction.

Gene expression is not automatic. It relies on outside influences. Generally, mechanical or
environmental influences are the catalytic events. What the scientists need is the mechanism for activating and de-activating gene expression. This is the new science of Epigenetics, “epi” meaning "above”, hence Epigenetics, “above the genes.”

We now know there are 5
0-100 times more Epigenetic factors than there are genes. Sequencing the “Epigenome” is possibly the greatest research project of the twenty-first century.

How does this affect the dentist and dental practice? The answer is, as a result of the science of Epigenetics and stimulating latent gene expressing, we can help our
patients reach their full potential.

“It is never too late to be who you might have been”, George Elliott.

Six months of Homeoblock™ treatment

Note: Right nostril opening We can arrest and reverse the aging process of the face through gene environmental interaction, i.e. catalyzing latent genes to express themselves.

This is accomplished with a simple intra-oral dental appliance worn in the nighttime only, the patented HOMEOBLOCK™ APPLIANCE.

The above facial changes represent external results of gene expression. Internal results can be documented as well.

For example, a better developed pharyngeal airway and improved breathing capability.

Before After

Our faces and airways are the result of our present-day diet and the air we breathe. Soft, refined foods with reduced need for the chewing mechanism, limit jaw development. Polluted air and mouth breathing negatively affect healthy airway development.
